The Takahashi Epsilon 180ED is a fantastic 7.1" f/2.8 flat field hyperbolic astrograph but the focuser is a bit too lightweight to handle a heavy Astro-ccd camera load. I designed and built a set of adaptors to replace the Tak focuser with the much more robust Finger Lakes PDF to extend the utility of the E180 to include large format ccd cameras with filter wheels. The very fine adjustment steps of the PDF also make focusing much more precise and easier than a straight Robo-Focus coupled stock focuser shaft.
